Our Policing program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required for careers in law enforcement. The curriculum covers police procedures, community policing, and crisis management. The College of Criminal Justice begins with a comprehensive exploration of criminal law and justice systems. Criminal Justice and Society

This course focuses on the implications for society and the criminal justice system. Some distinctive chapters that address issues of drug abuse, crime, and criminal justice.

Crime Management

This course is known for its thoroughness, accessibility, and practicality. By focusing on both the "hows" and "whys" of management techniques, it equips you with the skills and knowledge to effectively deal with the issues they will face in today's field.

Investigation Management

This course presents crime detection as a dynamic field relying heavily on the past experiences of investigators as well as recent practical and technological innovations. It explores the many external variables that can influence the investigator's success and the specific methods of crime detection and prosecution of law available today.

Psychology of Different People

This course continues the story of psychology with added research and enhanced content from the most dynamic areas of the field—cognition, gender and diversity studies, neuroscience and more, while at the same time using the most effective teaching approaches and learning tools.

Current Issues in Criminal Justice

This course introduces you to major issues in the field of Criminal Justice and helps you understand how they fit within the context of crime and justice.

Interviewing and Interrogation

This course examines the techniques used in interviews of witnesses, informants, and complainants as a communicative relationship. It includes demonstration, study, and practice of acceptable techniques and procedures, in accordance with due process.

Methods in Policing

This course discusses introduction to methods that are used in policing. These topics include Police Subculture, Community-Oriented Policing and Problem Solving, Extraordinary Problems and Methods, Civil Liability and Comparative Perspectives.

Police Administration

Police Administration examines police organizations and administration in the Police Departments. It gives in great detail, current and future trends in police administration and organization. It also examines police recruiting, selection, management, leadership, and policy.

Strategies for Multicultural Law Enforcement

This course examines current issues impacting the criminal justice system across cultures. It presents an analysis of the social issues facing professional law enforcement officers including race, ethnicity, and gender. The impact of decision-making process of police, in regards to cultural consideration and social impact is also explored.

Leadership and Ethics in Policing

This course provides an examination of the police supervisor’s role and responsibilities as they relate to leading, directing, and controlling personnel both formally and informally. It gives a detailed overview of the leadership skills required by the police force to actively perform their duties.
